What Tomorrow Brings

Publication day is tomorrow and I hope everyone enjoys reading about Seffy, Amyas and Charlie.  I have to say Amyas is possibly my favourite character so far and I love Seffie for her strength and independence.  I thoroughly enjoyed writing this story and wonder whether Seffy might have further adventures in the future.  For now, however, I have another book in the pipeline.  I can’t give you any details yet, save to say it should be entertaining…

Publication Day – When I was Young!

Well, what a whirlwind it’s been.  The RoNA Awards was wonderful and although I didn’t win, I’m so happy that I was nominated and would like to congratulate all the winners who absolutely deserve their success.  But here we are already at publication day for When I was Young.  I’ve had lots of very kind reviews which you can read at the links below and I gave an interview to Female First Magazine (link also below).  I particularly enjoyed the Peterborough Evening Post’s suggestion that ‘When I Was Young’ is a great book to give on Mother’s Day – you know, it never even occured to me!

I’m quite worn out with all the excitement but I have proof reading to approve and a new book to write so instead of gazing lovingly at my reviews, I will start shaping another hero for all of us to gaze lovingly at in our dreams!

Only one week to go!

It’s a week until the RoNA Award ceremony and I would be lying if I said I wasn’t excited. I’m sure it will be a fabulous event. The Historical Novel Association has done a short piece on the awards and as a result I have discovered them as another wonderful source for news and reviews. As it happens, I’ve also been sent the cover today for my next book, What Tomorrow Brings.  I won’t give you a sneak preview just yet, but as soon as I can, I’ll add it to the website.

RoNA14 Award nomination!

I’m thrilled to learn that The Love of a Lifetime (aka Richard Wilde) has been nominated for a Romantic Novelists Association Award! I cannot thank the panel enough for the nomination and the opportunity to come and celebrate what I’m sure will be a deserving winner (even if it isn’t my book!) at the award ceremony on 17th March.  Darcey Bussell CBE will be presenting the awards and I’m sure my grand-daughters will be very excited for me when they hear that I might meet her!

The Lady Magazine Review

I understand the Lady Magazine has reviewed ‘The Love of a Lifetime’ and called it ‘A captivating love story’, which is lovely to hear. I remember looking at The Lady Magazine when my middle daughter was considering taking a year out and working as an au pair in Europe. It would be fabulous to be placing an advert for a house-keeper but for the time being I will have to remain chief cook and bottle washer!
